Style can be defined as 'a manner of doing something' or 'the way in which something is said, done or expressed'. Defining our own style can be a little more complex, it is something that I tend to find a bit challenging to be honest. I would love to say that I am 'stylish' and that my style is unique...looking at this little collection of photos that I have pulled together makes it pretty clear that my style is maybe pink and faded?
hehe - not sure I like that definition! Style is not dependant on money, that I know for sure. Money cannot buy style nor can it buy class. Putting together an outfit or a home comes from within, it comes from the way in which we look at something and wear or display it. For me I think that style is also a reflection of what has gone on in the past and what is going on inside us. Over the years my style has developed into a somewhat eclectic mix of pastels, florals and light filled tones. It can certainly be defined as a reflection of what I feel inside and what I aim to create as a person.
As long as we are true to ourselves, live with authenticity and reflect what is real then our style will evolve naturally. Although, I must say that there are some seriously stylish role models out there and at times I just want to go out and start over again with my wardrobe and home...SO much inspiration! My tips for dealing with inspiration overload is to take some of the key looks that you admire and incorporate them into your own style, add a colour or wardrobe piece here and there to complement your own look, rather than trying to reinvent yourself every time you hop onto Pinterest!!
So how would you describe your style? Mine is evolving into something along the lines of eclectic, enlightened vintage!
