Consider Week 1 of Weight Watchers SMASHED!! Weighed in today at 1 kilo lighter and could not be more pleased!! It has been a week of renewed energy, belief in myself, positivity...and a little hunger here and there!! It does take dedication, simple goals and lots of commitment to make major changes to our health, there is nothing more worth the effort though.
In the interests of sharing and caring, here is a summary of Week 1 and a list of the things that I have done to speed along the removal of my unwanted baggage {aka 10 kilos}:
☆ Lots of juicing! My day starts with green SUPER juice, a combination of any mix of celery, spinach, broccoli, lime, green apple, ginger, kale, cucumber, parsley, mint. Some days I fit in two of these bad boys, the ginger and the lime give it the best spicy pick me up!
☆ No bread. I have removed bread altogether, mostly as an experiment to see if it has been contributing to my feelings of lethargy and being bloated and heavy in the gut.
☆ Downsizing my coffee from a large every time to a regular, sometimes just the small changes can make the difference.
☆ Minimal dairy, again more of an experiment to see if the cheese is causing any of my gut issues. I have also swapped cows milk for a combination of soy and rick milk in my smoothies.
☆ Power smoothies with protein! If I am hungry mid afternoon or even as a meal replacement on the odd occasion I have created my own awesome sauce smoothie! 250 mls of rice and soy milk combined, a handful of frozen raspberries, a few tablespoons of chia seeds, my gopure natural protein, a splash of coconut water and a tablespoon of no-fat biodynamic yoghurt. Y.U.M!!
☆ Treats have become treats again! Since when did treats become a daily occurrence? Somewhere along the way I forgot the meaning of the word and my home was always armed with treats, chocolates and other 'special occasion' foods! So its time to bring back the concept of a treat, meaning occasional! Yes easier said than done, I do have a few tricks up my sleeve that I will share soon!
Congrats! I find when I juice in the morning it makes me eat healthier all day.
